Yani Tseng bogeyed the 18th on Thursday and threw her putter at her bag. Stacy Lewis put an arm around her and offered a few words of encouragement.
“I just told her it was nice to see the Yani of old,” said Lewis. “You saw some moments today – still some things she wanted to clean up – but there were some moments today it was Yani of old, and I told her it's good to see her back.”
Tseng opened the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic with a 2-under 70, matching her playing competitor, Lewis. When it comes to Tseng in her prime, few players had more of an close-up view than Lewis, who paired with her for many a Sunday showdown.
