Facing concerns about participation levels and sustainability of golf, the United States Golf Association announced a five-year research partnership with the University of Minnesota to study the challenges facing the sport. U.S.G.A.’s previous research projects have focused on turf grass, but the Minnesota partnership will examine topics like the cost of the game, the time it takes to play, its accessibility and golfer enjoyment.
