Ernie Els, a four-time major champion, was chosen to receive the Payne Stewart Award, presented to a golfer who exemplifies the values of character, charity and sportsmanship. Els’s youngest son, Ben, has autism, and Els has devoted his work off the course to the Els for Autism Foundation.
