Spieth's honesty shines in Masters defeat

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Jordan Spieth is honest to a fault. It’s one of the many qualities that Spieth lovers everywhere find endearing.

Spieth’s five-shot lead vanished quickly Sunday on the back nine at the Masters. After four consecutive birdies to close out the first nine he bogeyed Nos. 10 and 11 and, if you’ve been living in a cave and don’t know, he made a quadruple bogey-7 on the par-3 12th hole when he dunked two balls into Rae’s Creek.

Suddenly, Spieth found himself in a three-shot deficit.

“At one point, I told (caddie Michael Greller), I said, ‘Buddy, it seems like we’re collapsing,’” Spieth said matter-of-factly.
