HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Justin Thomas has spent time with and played against Jordan Spieth since the two were 14-year-old juniors, so he wasn’t surprised by anything the Masters champion did last week at Augusta National
Thomas has seen the solid play, the clutch putting, the fearlessness and, yes, even the vocal side of Spieth, for years.
For example, as Thomas watched Sunday’s coverage of the Masters, he smiled when Spieth began barking at his golf ball as it sailed toward the par-5 13th green.
“Go, go, go hard, go,” yelled Spieth, who would birdie the hole to go from four clear to a cool five-stroke advantage with five to play.
