AKRON, Ohio – After scrambling his way around Firestone Country Club for 36 holes, a bevy of errant shots finally caught up with Jordan Spieth during the third round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
Spieth began the day at 2 under, tied for eighth and six shots behind Jim Furyk despite struggling with course conditions through his first two rounds. While he opened with a birdie Saturday, he closed his round with a pair of 6s that led to a 2-over 72, his worst score of the week.
