Jordan Spieth avoided the big numbers during his third round at the Crowne Plaza Invitational, and as a result he is on the fringe of contention heading into the final round.
Spieth carded a 3-under 67 amid soggy conditions at Colonial Country Club to post a 54-hole total of 6 under. That put him among a tie for 10th, four shots behind co-leaders Kevin Na and Ian Poulter, upon the conclusion of his round.
Spieth's second round was derailed by a triple bogey on No. 5, and the 21-year-old played his final six holes in 5 over after a promising start to the tournament.
