Spieth on Masters collapse: 'Not in my head'

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Jordan Spieth sat down with assembled media Wednesday at TPC Sawgrass and was in good spirits. On the eve of The Players, the 22-year-old was ready to talk about the week and the bigger events that lie ahead.

Others were ready to dissect Spieth’s 12th-hole Masters meltdown.

“At this point I don’t think people feel sorry for me,” Spieth said. “It’s the nature of the game.

“I think people have moved on already. At least I thought so until I came in here today.”

Laughter ensued.

Spieth has not played a tournament for the past month, not since that fateful Sunday in Augusta where he plunked two into Rae’s Creek and made quadruple bogey-7 on the par-3 12th.
