Spieth may reach out to Tiger about staying No. 1

KAPALUA, Hawaii – Ever since he can remember, Jordan Spieth’s goal was to be the top-ranked player in the world. He remedied that last season and enters the final round of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions with a chance to extend that lead over Jason Day (No. 2) and Rory McIlroy (No. 3).

But Spieth freely admits that he could seek out advice from others on what it takes to stay at the top for an extended period of time.

“I think it would be wise to ask more questions than I do,” Spieth said, acknowledging he should reach out to McIlroy, Tiger Woods and even Phil Mickelson, who has never been ranked No.
