KAPALUA, Hawaii – At 22, Jordan Spieth continues to show why he’s wise beyond his years.
The top-ranked player in the world shot a 9-under 64 Friday at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions to take a four-shot lead into the weekend. He’s now been in either first or second place after each of his six career rounds at Kapalua.
After his round Friday, Spieth spoke at length about how his mindset has evolved over the past couple years when holding a lead.
“The John Deere did a lot for me this past year, because it’s a golf course where I started the final round in the lead by two, but by the time I tee off and get going, I’m not in the lead anymore,” he said.
