Spieth 'excited' Mickelson will be on Prez Cup team

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Count Jordan Spieth among those who were happy to see Phil Mickelson receive a captain's pick for the Presidents Cup.

Since turning pro in late 2012, Spieth has been one of the many young players whom Mickelson has taken under his wing. When asked for his thoughts Tuesday on Mickelson’s controversial selection by captain Jay Haas, Spieth couldn’t hide his excitement.

“I don’t think there’s anybody better in the locker room. He’s unbelievably positive,” he said, before throwing a playful jab at the 45-year-old: “He brings some adrenaline and excitement to these team events that we don’t normally see in people his age.
