HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — After making a Masters-record 28 birdies last week at Augusta National, Jordan Spieth could only manage one birdie Thursday around Harbour Town Golf Links.
Spieth, playing for the fourth straight week on Tour, carded a 3-over 74 in the first round of the RBC Heritage, his first round of golf since putting on the green jacket.
"There's no excuses," said Spieth, who hit six fairways and eight greens while also finding the water off the tee at the difficult par-3 14th, where he made double bogey.
