Kevin Heaney, executive director of the Southern California Golf Association, was elected president of the International Association of Golf Administrators at its annual meeting Wednesday in Monterey Bay, Calif.
Heaney becomes the 44th president of the IAGA, which was formed in 1968 to promote and conserve the best interests of the game of golf. The IAGA represents close to three million golfers through state and regional golf associations primarily in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“It’s an exciting time,” said Heaney during his acceptance speech. “There is a great opportunity for growth in the game but we need to think big, be bold and embrace change.
