No matter how much you may study golf, from time to time you see a name atop a prominent leaderboard and think: "Who?"
That's exactly what happened on Saturday at the Maybank Championship Malaysia, as unheralded Soomin Lee raced out to a 7-under 64 and opened up a three-shot lead at Royal Selagnor Golf Club. In a field with names like Louis Oosthuizen, Danny Willett and Pablo Larrazabal, it's the World No. 221 making just his second career European Tour start that is out in front.
"It was very exciting (today)," Lee said. "I had a good feeling this week because I like playing on this course.
