KAPALUA, Hawaii – Brandt Snedeker is getting his year underway this week at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions without his normal caddie.
Scott Vail underwent surgery on his right foot late last year and wasn’t able to work for Snedeker during the off-season at the Australian PGA Championship and Franklin Templeton Shootout.
“He’s struggling he’s not here, but foot surgery is tough,” Snedeker said on Wednesday at Kapalua. “It’s going to take some time.”
Filling in for Vail this week is Steve Underwood, who will also caddie for Snedeker next week at the Sony Open.
