WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. – Shaquille O’Neal swung so hard at his opening tee shot in the Greenbrier Classic that it seemed like the earth shook.
After all, when he whiffed, his ball fell off the tee as he nearly tumbled over.
“That’s okay,” Hall of Famer Lee Trevino said, “you had a bad lie.”
Shaq re-teed and missed again. But the third time was the charm as O’Neal made contact, hooking his ball into a stand of trees. Then he wielded his club like a Samurai sword and did his best Chi Chi Rodriguez impression.
