Just hours after being arrested on his way to Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, Scottie Scheffler shot a five-under 66 in the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship on Friday, placing himself in a tie for third place when he entered the clubhouse.
Scheffler previously carded a four-under 67 on Thursday and entered the second round in 12th place, but by the time his second round ended, he was just two strokes behind leader Collin Morikawa and one shot behind Xander Schauffele in second place.
According to ESPN's Mark Schlabach, a police officer arrested Scheffler early Friday morning after he attempted to go around traffic caused by an accident that occurred outside Valhalla Golf Club by driving up on a median.
