CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Adam Scott’s decision to not play this year’s Olympics has drawn criticism from many circles, including a particularly pointed Facebook post from former Olympic swimmer Dawn Fraser, who won eight medals.
“Very sorry to hear that Adam Scott cannot fit it into his schedule to play for Australia at the Olympics,” Fraser wrote. “Well done Adam great to put your country on hold so that you can fulfill your own schedule. How much money do you want in life? Not showing much for your country.”
On Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Championship, Scott responded to the criticism he’s received since announcing he had withdrawn his name from Olympic consideration last month.
