Call it second time lucky for Scott Hend in the True Thailand Classic.
The big-hitting Australian had a chance to win last year’s inaugural event. He began the final round with a one-shot lead but bogeyed the driveable 17th to finish second behind compatriot Andrew Dodt. He made no mistake this time around to earn his second European Tour victory.
The 42-year-old held off the challenge of local favourite Piya Swangarunporn to win for the first time since the 2014 Hong Kong Open.
Hend began the final round with a two-shot lead over Peter Uihlein, and a six-shot advantage over Swangarunporn.
