Former Masters champ Charl Schwartzel has switched equipment companies on the eve of the 145th Open, opting to sign with PXG.
Currently ranked No. 21 in the world, Schwartzel has been a longtime user of Nike golf equipment, including earlier this year when he won the Valspar Championship in a playoff over Bill Haas. He finished T-7 at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in his most recent start.
The move was announced by PXG founder Bob Parsons Tuesday on Twitter:
I'm pleased and proud to announce Charl Schwartzel has joined Team @PXG & will be playing PXG equipment in The Open!
