Charl Schwartzel's playoff win at the Valspar Championship gave him his first PGA Tour victory in nearly five years, but it didn't move him off the bubble for a spot in the upcoming Olympics.
Schwartzel rose to No. 21 in the latest world rankings after defeating Bill Haas on the first extra hole, but he still trails two other players from South Africa: world No. 12 Branden Grace and No. 16 Louis Oosthuizen, who finished T-7 in Tampa. In order to earn a spot in Rio, Schwartzel would need to move past one of his countrymen - or have all three ranked inside the top 15, which would afford South Africa an additional spot.
