Three veterans who are searching to rejuvenate their careers were given exemptions into the Farmers Insurance Open (Jan. 28-31), but it was a youngster looking to jump-start his who was perhaps the most notable to get a pass.
Ollie Schniederjans was one of six who accepted exemptions into the tournament at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif. Like Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Patrick Rodgers and Emiliano Grillo, Schniederjans was a member of the high school class of 2011. But unlike Spieth, Thomas, Rodgers and Grillo, the onetime Georgia Tech standout doesn’t have PGA Tour status.
