Lizette Salas moved into position to give the Americans a sweep of the first two events of the LPGA season.
That’s something the Americans haven’t done in a decade, since they won the first three events of 2007.
Salas posted a 2-under-par 71 Saturday in tough, windy conditions at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open. She’s two shots ahead of Australia’s Sarah Jane Smith (74), Sue Oh (68) and Thailand’s Pornanong Phatlum (73).
“We’ll just take it shot for shot tomorrow,” Salas said. “It’s been a while since I’ve been in this position, but I’m going to embrace it and just have fun.
