DALY CITY, Calif. – So Yeon Ryu knows what she likes so much about Lake Merced Golf Club.
It reminds her of the kind of course that would host a major championship.
“If the greens were a little firmer and faster, it would definitely be like a U.S. Women’s Open,” Ryu said.
As the winner of the 2011 U.S. Women’s Open, that’s a good thing for Ryu. It has helped Ryu realize there was bound to be some trouble to deal with before she signed her final scorecard at the Swinging Skirts Classic this week, and that helped her deal with Friday’s poor start.
