Round 1 of Greater Gwinnett Championship suspended due to rain

The Champions Tour's return after a three-week hiatus was spoiled as the Greater Gwinnett Championship was suspended due to inclement weather on Friday.

Rain poured down at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, halting play with only two golfers able to finish the round.

But the abbreviated outing did not stop some players from making birdies early, as five players are tied at 4 under. Olin Browne, Ian Woosnam, Gary Halberg, Tommy Armour III and Joey Sindelar sit at the mark and are through at least 12 holes.

Miguel Angel Jimenez, who has already won this season on the Champions Tour, returns as the defending champion.
