Justin Rose announced Thursday that he will miss next week's BMW PGA Championship because of a lingering back injury.
Rose finished T-19 last week at The Players Championship, highlighted by a closing 66. After that round, the Englishman spoke of his desire to someday win the European Tour's flagship event, which he described as his "home tournament." But days later, he tweeted an explanation that an injury which had limited his third-round practice session at TPC Sawgrass to only 20 minutes had worsened.
"It is with deep disappointment that I must announce that I will not be able to play the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth," Rose wrote.
