Rory McIlroy's bid for the BMW PGA Championship and a $1.53 million prize came up short on Sunday.
The Irish golfer fell short in a playoff for the tournament title, which was won by Billy Horschel. This was the second consecutive tournament where McIlroy fell just short after he came in second in the Irish Open a week ago.
Following the loss, McIlroy said that he was happy with how he is performing and feels ready to keep up the momentum.
"I'm excited for the future," McIlroy said, per the Associated Press.
