Rory McIlroy made a major charge on the front nine Saturday at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia, and a stellar chip-in at No. 8 capped his surge.
After opening his third round with birdies on No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6, the Irishman chipped in for eagle at the par-five eighth to move to nine under for the tournament:
McIlroy, who entered the day at four under, is now hot on the heels of leader Patrick Reed as he eyes the career Grand Slam.
