TORONTO — Rogers Media President Keith Pelley is leaving his job to become commissioner and CEO of golf's European Tour. He succeeds George O'Grady, who is taking a new position within the tour.
Rogers Communications said Friday the exact date of Pelley's departure will be announced later. A former CTV and TSN executive, Pelley has been in the job since 2010. He was one of the key players in Rogers' 12-year, $5.2-billion acquisition of the NHL TV rights.
Rogers CEO Guy Laurence says Pelley has done a "terrific job of reinventing the way Canadians experience the NHL.
