Rickie Fowler Edges Henrik Stenson as Playoff Field Narrows

NORTON, Mass. — The day before the start of the Deutsche Bank Championship, Collin MacDonald, a teenage volunteer, caught up to his favorite player, Rickie Fowler. He had met Fowler two years ago, when he carried a scoring standard for Fowler’s group. He had returned to do the same job this year, and on Thursday he said he told Fowler, “Maybe on Monday afternoon everything will click together.”

In his wildest dreams, MacDonald could not have imagined how well everything would work out. On Monday, during the final round at TPC Boston, MacDonald, a 16-year-old high school junior, was assigned to walk with the final twosome of Fowler and Henrik Stenson.
