On a day when Rick Lamb kept firing red numbers, it was a fitting ending.
Battling it out on the second extra hole in a four-man playoff on Peek’n Peak Resort’s Upper Course’s par-5 18th, Lamb faced a crucial birdie chip he likely needed to make just to continue on.
Well, he holed it. And when Rhein Gibson and Cheng Tsung Pan couldn’t convert birdie putts inside 15 feet, Lamb had taken the title.
“Everything happened so quick,” Lamb said. “It’s just one of those days where everything went my way. It couldn’t have turned out any better.
