Patrick Reed was a late scratch from the BMW PGA Championship, but the American will still be teeing it up competitively this week.
According to a report from the U.K.'s Telegraph, Reed's management company, IMG, cited "family reasons" for his decision to skip the European Tour's flagship event. Reed, though, is still listed in the field for this week's Crowne Plaza Invitational in his home state of Texas. The report notes that Reed didn't notify officials at Wentworth of his withdrawal until Monday, while his commitment for Colonial would have been made by last Friday at the latest.
