KAPALUA, Hawaii – Patrick Reed went 68 holes without a bogey this week and shot 22 under par, which was one shot better than last year’s winning effort at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. He finished in second place, a whopping eight shots behind Jordan Spieth.
“At the end of the day if you would have told me coming into this week with the wind blowing hard third and fourth round that I was only going to have one bogey for the week, I would have taken it,” Reed said.
Reed shot an opening 65 and held the lead, but a second-round 69 moved him back on a day where Spieth shot 64.
