Record earnings on PGA Tour: Six players win $5 million-plus

It was a record-setting season on the money front in more ways than one way. Yes, Jordan Spieth established an impressive total of $12,030,465 ($1,125,300 higher than the previous best by Vijay Singh in 2004), but it was also the first time in PGA Tour history that six players cracked the $5 million mark.

Jason Day’s total of $9,403,330 would have led the money list in each of the five previous seasons and it’s the seventh-best output in Tour history. (Spieth holds No. 1, Singh No. 2, and Tiger Woods has the next four best seasons.)

Also cracking $5 million this year were Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, and Justin Rose.
