For the third time in four years, Rory McIlroy won the Race to Dubai, clinching the title with his win at the DP World Tour Championship, per PA Sport.
The win ensured that McIlroy would take the $1.25 million top prize from the $5 million prize pool, along with a $625,000 bonus prize for playing in at least three of four of the Turkish Airlines Open, The WGC-HSBC Champions, The BMW Masters and the DP World Tour Championship.
McIlroy shot a 66 on Sunday to finish 21 under par, just one shot ahead of Andy Sullivan for the tournament and ahead of Danny Willett for the Race to Dubai.
