ORLANDO – Steve Mona, 58, may have one of the most important jobs in golf nobody ever talks about. As CEO of the World Golf Foundation since 2008, he oversees The First Tee, World Golf Hall of Fame and Golf 20/20. The WGF mission is to develop and support initiatives that positively impact lives through the game of golf and its traditional values. Mona gave Golfweek a status report on the progress – or lack thereof – made during 2015 and laid out the blueprint for the future during a half-hour conversation at the PGA Merchandise Show in January.
