The technologies designed into today’s golf eyewear are changing. Declan Lonergan, Oakley’s sunglass category manager, talked with Golfweek recently about the company’s newest line.
What makes the Oakley PRIZM line unique?
It’s a new lens technology that has been specifically engineered for golf. We have also launched versions for baseball, road sports and even fishing. Each sport gets a different tint based on what athletes in those sports need. In golf, we focused on the green, not the white ball. We spent the last five years gathering data, images and video of golf courses, and then talked with professional players about what they need to improve their game.
