Q&A: David Abeles, TaylorMade CEO

CARLSBAD, Calif. – David Abeles, 44, was named chief executive and president of TaylorMade-Adidas Golf on March 26.

Abeles, who has engaged in a global whirlwind tour for the past month, sat down with Golfweek to outline his vision for the company and his thoughts about the golf industry.

GOLFWEEK: You have received several very meaningful job offers by phone from TaylorMade and Adidas (over the years).

ABELES: That's right. Mike Whan, who was with TaylorMade at the time (and is now commissioner of the LPGA Tour), asked me to move to the West Coast (Carlsbad, home of TaylorMade-Adidas Golf).
