LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Rory McIlroy shot 65 Friday and wasn’t thrilled about it.
That’s a sign of progress for the world No. 1.
Despite another pedestrian day on the greens, McIlroy moved onto the first page of the leaderboard here at the BMW Championship. The only problem? He’s still seven shots off the lead (and in a tie for eighth) heading into the weekend.
“The par for us out here really should be 67 or 66,” McIlroy said. “Anyone not shooting scores around that or better, you’re going to go backward.
