Pressure mounting for Rafa Campos as he continues to lead at Puerto Rico Open

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – Rafa Campos has been around golf long enough to know all the right things to say about leading any event through 36 holes. It’s only halfway, there’s lots of golf to be played, I need to stay in the moment . . . yada, yada, yada.

But when asked if he has allowed himself to think about winning the Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach, a tournament played not far from where he grew up, he simply is too honest not to tell the truth.

“It gives me goosebumps already,” he said Friday afternoon after finishing up a round of 1-under 71 in windy conditions.
