INCHEON, South Korea – The pairings for the first day of the Presidents Cup were selected on Wednesday afternoon in South Korea with little drama, as International captain Nick Price named Australian Adam Scott and Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama to play against the long-hitting American duo of Bubba Watson and J.B. Holmes starting at 10:05 pm EDT.
Scott, a veteran of the last six Presidents Cups, played with Matsuyama in both foursomes matches in the 2013 Presidents Cup at Muirfield Village, recording a 1-1-0 record.
Watson, playing in only his second Presidents Cup, has only played foursomes with Webb Simpson in the Presidents Cup, but now will be responsible for showing rookie Holmes the ropes in Korea.
