Presidents Cup format change sounds unlikely

DUBLIN, Ohio – If you’re a fan of the International Presidents Cup team, the media center at Muirfield Village was not exactly a friendly room on Wednesday.

International captain Nick Price and team staple Ernie Els have been vocal in their support of a format change for this year’s matches that would reduce the number of team matches from 22 to something closer to the number used at the Ryder Cup (16).

“We’re still talking about that,” U.S. captain Jay Haas said. “I think in the near future the decision will be made and we’ll let you know soon, but we’re still in discussion about that.
