The 2024 Presidents Cup began on Thursday with an opening ceremony at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec.

The celebration kicked off the competition between the United States team and the International Team, which represents the rest of the world outside Europe.

International team captain and 2003 Masters champion Mike Weir addressed the crowd prior to the first tee time at 11:35 am E.T.

Two-time PGA Tour champion Mackenzie Hughes joined Weir in kicking off the event by chugging a beer before the Canadian crowd.
