Ian Poulter continued his charge up the leaderboard and closed Saturday with a one-stroke lead over Tony Finau, Jonathan Byrd and Steve Marino at the Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach.
Poulter, the highest-ranked player in the field at 67 in the world, followed up his day-two 66 with a 4-under 68 in the third round. Off to a rough start in 2016, this is the first time since last May at the Dean and Deluca Invitation that Poulter has posted two consecutive rounds in the 60s.
Poulter, a two time winner on the PGA Tour, was last a 54-hole leader at the 2015 Honda Classic.
