LYTHAM ST. ANNES, England — Pornanong Phatlum of Thailand showed no signs of nerves as she retained her overnight lead with a three-under-par 69 on Saturday in the third round of the Women’s British Open.
At 13 under for the tournament, she held a one-shot lead over the home favorite, Georgia Hall of England, with Ryu So-yeon of South Korea two behind at 11 under.
Hall, who holed a string of great putts, had five birdies in a 69 to maintain high hopes of improving on last year’s tie for third and become the first British winner since Catriona Matthew of Scotland triumphed at Royal Lytham nine years ago.
