Police Officer Reiterates Scottie Scheffler Injured Him Despite Charges Being Dropped

On Wednesday, charges were dropped against World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler following his May 17 arrest.

Later in the day, Louisville Metro Police Department detective Bryan Gillis, who arrested Scheffler, released a statement obtained by WAVE 3 News in Louisville in which he said he was dragged by Scheffler's car, went to the ground and "received visible injuries to my knees and wrist."

Scheffler was initially charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.
