Even the senior circuit has developed playoff fever.
The Champions Tour announced Wednesday the creation of the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs, a three-event series that will determine the season-long champion.
Two of the three tournaments are new events, beginning with the Oct. 28-30 PowerShares QQQ Championship in Los Angeles, which will feature a 72-man field. The field will be cut to 54 for the Nov. 4-6 Dominion Charity Classic, to be held at Richmond’s Country Club of Virginia James River Course, followed by the Nov. 11-13 Charles Schwab Cup Championship at Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
