South Carolina junior Matthew NeSmith shot three rounds in the 60s during the SEC Championship, taking medalist honors and earning player of the week honors.
NeSmith, who has at least co-medaled in two straight events, carded a 14-under 196, finishing six shots ahead of runner-up Ben Schlottman at Sea Island Golf Club's Seaside Course.

NeSmith made only one bogey during the 54-hole event and bested the field in par-5 scoring average, playing the par 5s at a 4.17 average. He is ranked No. 23 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
