Player of the Week: Joaquin Niemann

After three years of qualifying, Julia Ford’s hard work and dedication to the game finally earned her a spot in the U.S. Girls’ Junior.

“She is probably the hardest working kid I know,” Julia’s dad Jason said. “It’s impressive to watch. I think I could even learn from her work ethic.”

Ford, of Shrewsbury, Mass., shot 74 in a 2013 qualifier in her home state to miss advancing by one shot. It was difficult to take, but she accepts the challenges of the game. In fact, that is her favorite part.

Still, Ford broke through this year and will tee it up at Tulsa (Okla.
