The majority of Ping's tour staff uses the S55 irons, but some, including Lee Westwood, have enjoyed the forgiveness and slightly higher ball flight produced by the i25 irons. Now Ping is set to release i irons, the successor to those clubs.
“Starting with the i15, we began designing the i series for players who are proficient with their wedges and short irons, but who need to progressively get help with height, length and forgiveness in their long irons,” said Marty Jertson, Ping’s director of product development. “We’ve been refining them ever since and this is the next step in that progression.
